RAILWAY STATION STAFF

Please find below details of WAGR station officers at Gnowangerup station. The SM was on duty from 8am-4pm and the ASM from 4pm-midnight. The ASM position was created in 1948 and lasted until 1979. There are gaps in the ASM list and I have not found a permanent appointment for those times. I imagine it was filled by a Station Relief Officer.
276 rail miles south-east of Perth. On the Tambellup – Gnowangerup railway, opened 1 July 1912 and extended to Ongerup on 6 January 1913 (closed 12 October 1957). Originally spelt Ngowangerup but changed to Gnowangerup in October 1913. The last trains from Tambellup-Gnowangerup ran on 2-4 October 2007. Rail services were permanently suspended on 16 June 2009.
Station manned from 1 November 1912 – 19 October 1984.

Classification/Grade: Grade 8 (1913), Class 5 (1922,1937,1955,1980)
